Hello everyone! My name is Charles “Chuck” Dalton. I’ve had the honor of immersing myself in the tobacco industry for over 25 years, an adventure that has taken me around the world, and given me priceless experiences, insights, and connections. I hail from sunny North Carolina, the beating heart of the US tobacco industry, and currently, I’m fortunate to call Lexington, Kentucky home.
My career in the tobacco industry started with a humble job at the RJ Reynolds company. Over the years, I worked my way up to a senior role, gaining invaluable experience about the art of tobacco cultivation, blending, and manufacturing. I later moved to Philip Morris International, where I led a team that introduced some innovative tobacco products that are loved by consumers worldwide.
This journey has been filled with exciting milestones. In 2018, I was awarded the prestigious Tobacco Industry Leader of the Year award for my work in sustainable farming practices. Just last year, I received the Global Tobacco & Nicotine Forum’s Golden Leaf Award for my commitment to the industry. These recognitions mean a lot to me, but the real reward is seeing the impact of my work in fields, factories, and shops around the world.
When I’m not delving into the rich and complex world of tobacco, you can find me enjoying my two major hobbies: photography and hiking. I love to capture the beauty of the tobacco fields in different seasons and share them on my blog. Hiking, on the other hand, helps me relax and rejuvenate, giving me a fresh perspective on life and work.
